Cosmetic surgery looks set to be just as popular in 2020 as in any previous year, and with so many different procedures and treatments to choose from, it is possible to transform virtually any aspect of our appearance. Despite all the options available, there are some types of cosmetic surgery that are predicted to be particularly hot over the next 12 months.

Here are some of the cosmetic surgery procedures that are going to be most popular in 2020.

Botulinum Toxin Type A

Botox and similar-branded injectables will remain extremely sought-after in 2020. No longer just reserved for middle-aged clientele who are trying to look younger, an increasing number of millennials are choosing these treatments to help prolong their youthful appearance for as long as possible. These minimally invasive treatments are a great way to prevent lines and wrinkles from forming.

Two other injectable treatments, Restylane and Juvéderm, will also continue to be a popular choice for lip enhancement procedures, while surgeries that aim to shorten the space between the bottom of the nose and the top of the lip will offer patients a more permanent way to create a fuller, softer top lip.

Body Contouring

Body contouring procedures have transformed the way in which our shape can be enhanced and improved without needing to go under the knife. There are various options available, from red light therapy that heats fat cells so that the fat is liquefied and metabolized by the body, to fat-freezing techniques that destroy fat cells permanently. All work by targeting specific areas to remove fat and produce smoother, tighter, and more toned contours. Results may take several months to appear, but can be sustained indefinitely with the proper attention to your diet and exercise regime.

Hair Transplants

Having first been carried out in the 1950s, hair transplants aren’t a new concept. However, the techniques used have continued to be refined so that today, modern hair transplants are safer, easier, and more effective than ever before. There are two techniques: Follicular Unit Strip Surgery and Follicular Unit Extraction. They both involve taking hair from another part of the head to use in the area that needs attention. The process can take anywhere from half to a full day, and it can take several months for the hair to start to regenerate. Nevertheless, hair transplants are extremely successful.

Breast Augmentation

It probably comes as no surprise that breast augmentation looks set to be just as popular in 2020 as in previous years. This surgery, which is designed to increase the size and volume of the breasts, is historically performed using artificial saline or silicone implants. However, now patients also have the choice of breast augmentation using fat transfer, which is when fat is taken using liposuction from another part of your body, purified and inserted back into the breasts to enhance them. This reduces the risk of rejection and many patients believe that the feel of their new breasts is more natural.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

Conventional rhinoplasties are one of the most complex types of cosmetic surgery, and unsurprisingly, the fact that you have had surgery on your nose is very hard to hide while you are healing. Fortunately, there is another option – non-surgical nose reshaping using dermal fillers. This is where fillers are strategically injected around the nose in order to subtly change its shape and overall appearance. There is no minimal downtime, enabling you to return to normal much more quickly.

Liposuction

Liposuction remains one of the most effective to quickly tone up any wobbly areas that are causing you concern. The minimally invasive process involves removing fatty tissue from the areas that you would like to see more tightly toned using suction. Liposuction can be carried out on many areas of the body including the abdomen, thighs, hips, flanks, buttocks, and upper arms. Results can be seen immediately, but it will take several weeks for patients to fully recover.
